2026 Fun Run Information

We can’t wait to run with you! Please register online, register once and you’re in for the whole season.

The dates for this summer are as follows:

May 31 * June 14 * June 28 * July 12

The Neenah Summer Fun Runs are held at Memorial Park In Neenah on the Tom Jensen Field. Check-in at the George Scherck Shelter.

The first race begins at 7pm

Distances for the Fun Run Series:

Ages 6 & under - 400 or 800 meters (¼ or ½ mile)
Ages 7-9 - 800 meters ( ½ mile)
Ages 10-14 - 1600 meters ( 1 mile)

Boys and girls will run in separate events within each age group.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance for the Neenah Summer Fun Run Series. You only need to register once for the entire series. A race tag can be picked up at the shelter prior to your event.

Please register today even if you’re unsure about attendance then we will have a tag ready for you on race day!

Day of registration is available on site at the George Scherck Shelter prior to the event. Please allow plenty of time to get registered before the start of your event. Registering on site is cumbersome and more work for our volunteers so even if you might want to run please register now!

About

The Neenah Summer Fun Run program is a series of free running events provided every summer for children ages 14 and under. The events, including post-run refreshments and awards, are provided at no cost to participants thanks to the generosity of local sponsors.

The program has been a treasured summer tradition for 30 years! It was started in 1996 by a group of local running enthusiasts, including coaches and former Neenah High School athletes. Many of them are still actively involved today. 

The Fun Runs operate under the umbrella of the Neenah Park & Recreation Department and is staffed completely by volunteers.

As we continue preparing for the 30th season of the Neenah Summer Fun Run series, we need to pause and reflect. We are heartbroken to learn that Tom Jensen has passed away. Tom would defer all credit and thank all the volunteers who made the fun runs special for so many kids. However, we all know Tom was the catalyst to start the program and the strong will to not only hold it together but grow the program for three decades. Tom was a teacher, coach, mentor, friend, and all-around kind human. There will still be running, fun, cookies, and Dilly Bars this summer. We will cheer for all the young kids learning the joy of running and hand out ribbons to celebrate. But we will have to do all this without our head volunteer, biggest cheerleader, and most compassionate friend. Thank you, Tom!
